Heart to Heart International's Marketing and Communications Internship provides an excellent opportunity for college students currently enrolled in marketing or related majors.
The intern must positively represent HHI’s objectives as they gain practical experience in communications and marketing programs, donor communication and projects on behalf of the Lenexa-based nonprofit.
The Digital Marketing Intern will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Director and the Resource Development team.
Internship Details
- This is a paid internship (temporary, non-exempt position).
- Exact schedule including internship dates and hours per week to be determined upon hiring.
- Between 10 to 20 hours per week.
- Approximate dates for spring internship : early-mid January to early mid-May.
- Flexibility with a hybrid schedule; In-office and work-from-home hours can be determined with supervisor upon hiring.
- Check in weekly with supervisor.
- Create a presentation to be delivered at the end of the internship.
Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Digital Marketing Intern to join our team. In this role, you will assist in implementing digital marketing strategies, help manage online campaigns and contribute to our social media and content marketing efforts.
This internship provides hands-on experience in various areas of digital marketing and an opportunity to learn on the job.
Responsibilities
- Assist with writing and proofing projects, including monthly newsletter, blogs, website, social media platforms, and printed materials.
- Create content for all four social media channels, research new content ideas, develop a monthly calendar, and assist with visual storytelling.
- Update the website, support SEO with keyword research, monitor Google Analytics
- Help monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
- Assist in the creation of marketing reports and dashboards using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Perform market research to identify trends, customer behavior, and competitor strategies.
- Identify new target audiences and ideate ways to foster long-term loyalty with existing audiences.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new marketing ideas and campaigns.
- Attend meetings and support the team with miscellaneous administrative and marketing-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to independently manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated record of being a self-starter with mature decision-making capacity, resourcefulness, and innovation.
- Proven track record in participating and thriving on diverse collaborative teams, working together to reach shared goals.
- Prior marketing, or related, experience preferred.
Requirements
- Must successfully complete a background check and drug screen.
- At least 18 years old and enrolled in a post-secondary education program including undergraduate, associate, graduate, or certificate programs.
- Only United States citizens are eligible for paid internships.
Additional Information
Although Heart to Heart International anticipates the internship will last for the full agreed upon time period, no selected intern is guaranteed to have his or her internship last for any period of time.
HHI reserves the right to end the internship of an individual at any time for any reason. Agreement by an individual to participate in the internship does not constitute a contract or guarantee of employment.
Heart to Heart International reserves the right to discontinue the program if no qualifying applications are received as determined by the organization or for any other reason.
Family members of Heart to Heart International staff are ineligible for consideration unless the HHI board grants a special exception.
