Medtronic is seeking a dynamic, clinically savvy, experienced Regional Sales Leader to oversee and support the Field Sales team within the Diabetes Business.
The Regional Sales Leader will be responsible for building, growing, and leading a best-in-class sales team in a highly competitive and fast-paced environment.
This individual will also assist in the development of the competencies and business processes necessary to build and maintain a high-performance sales organization and to effectively achieve business objectives.
Additional responsibilities include market development initiatives, sales management, inventory management, resource allocation, customer relationship management, budget control, development of expansion plans, sales forecasts, and revenue plans.
The role will report directly to the Vice President- US Field Sales & Clinical.

DAY IN THE LIFE :
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned :
- Plans, directs, and monitors the activities of a sales team within a specified region / district / geography to achieve established sales targets.
- Develops and / or implements business strategies for existing and potential accounts.
- Manages the day-to-day activities of a sales team in order to implement the organization's overall sales strategy for an assigned region / district / geography.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with all key account personnel and relevant functions in order to support selling, market development, service efforts, and clinical programs.
- Identifies opportunities and develops new programs to meet the organization's sales plans to increase market share.
- Assesses need for the addition of new selling programs and processes, conducts competitive analysis, and implements strategies.
- Coaches sales representatives on the technical aspects of the organization's products and services; on marketing campaigns and sales promotions;
and on sales techniques, procedures, and standards that will help them achieve their sales targets.
MUST HAVE - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, PLEASE BE SURE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME :
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant sales experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant sales experience.
NICE TO HAVE :
- Master’s degree in related field.
- Has a broad understanding of organizational context and comprehensive knowledge of the medical devices market and environment.
- 5 years’ experience in budget and P&L management.
- Experience directing and leading full line sales teams : regional managers, sales reps, territory managers, clinical support reps, sales reporting & analysts etc.
- Established key customer relationships.
- Expertise in sales forecasting, strategy, sales structure.
- A strong grasp of financial acumen.
- Successfully created and implemented sales programs resulting in significant sales increases.
- Knowledgeable in Diabetes Therapy Management.

Travel is required. Must be able to drive approximately 85% of the time within assigned territory and may require overnight travel.
Ability to drive over four hours consecutively. Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application.
