Responsibilities
- The Campus Planning group plays a key role at PNNL and serves as the point of contact and PNNL interface with outside entities such as Hanford contractors, city municipalities and other utility and government agencies.
- This position will support PNNL's near- and long-term site, facility, and infrastructure strategic planning to address capability gaps.
Ensures the integration of maintenance, operation and planning of facilities and infrastructure through the integration of strategic planning and budget proposal processes.
Provides direction for the addition or removal of facilities and infrastructure to optimize current and future facility investments.
Formulates, recommends, and ensures compliance with approved standards and policies.
- Attention to detail and meeting deadlines is crucial in the Campus Planning group because of the responsibility for maintaining updates to our prime contract, service agreements, interlaboratory agreements, and leasing actions.
- Understand the scientific vision as it relates to the current state of the land, facilities and infrastructure while maintaining campus maps, surveys, easements, and other campus requirements in support of our investment and execution of the strategy.
- The Facilities and Infrastructure Strategic Planner will serve as a subject matter expert and will be responsible for interpreting internal and external business and / or regulatory challenges and providing insight and recommendations based on industry trends and best practices.
- May lead teams or projects with moderate risk and complexity, influencing successful delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
- Interface with all research and support organizations within PNNL.
- Able to manage and maintain processes while engaging senior level staff and management.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively on diverse teams.
- Skilled at building positive relationships and influence to get results.
- Ability to foster creative solutions to complicated facility and infrastructure needs.
- Able to consider risks and ensure compliance with procedures and policies. Responsible for maintaining and updating procedures related to this position.
- This position may serve as a backup and eventual replacement of the DOE Facilities Information Management System (FIMS) administrator.
- General knowledge of operations processes, subcontracting, and financial systems.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
- BS / BA and 7+ years of relevant work experience -OR-
- MS / MA and 5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience analyzing facility related data to make informed strategic decisions.
- Understanding of facility systems and infrastructure.

Due to business needs and client space, US Citizenship is required.
