We are looking for a Compensation Consultant to join a prominent health system in Indianapolis, IN. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in the office with the remainder of the time spent working remotely.
The Compensation Consultant reports to the Compensation Manager.

Responsibilities : Market Reviews :
Market Reviews :
Conduct base pay market reviews including the identification, extraction and manipulation of source materials (i.e. internal and external job descriptions and all components of compensation data);
providing summary findings and making recommendations to Compensation Manager.
Merit Program :
Gather and summarize external market data and trends in consideration of the annual salary increase budget, create communication materials, and review current salary plan ranges in collaboration with the Manager.
Incentive and Special Pay Programs :
Coordinate or annual bonus programs and the development of other incentive or special compensation programs as identified.
Job Descriptions / Position Management :
- Review and determine salary plan and grade all incoming job descriptions (for new or existing positions).
- Maintain ownership of all incoming requests for job evaluations and grading reviews.
- Solve complex compensation issues for internal client groups.
- Serve as consultant to management and to other human resource members and employees regarding program application, refinement and interpretation.
Other Programs
Conduct market research and provide summary findings to Compensation Manager and stakeholders to help design and review current Total Rewards and Talent Programs, including PTO Program, Physician Compensation, and Metrics / Forecasting Budgetary Analytics.
General Responsibilities
- Independently consult with Management and employees, as well as internal HR colleagues in application of current compensation practices and communicate compensation and shared services practices and procedures to internal customers.
- Provide authorization for non-standard personnel actions, interim pay and other payments as appropriate, including the coordination of payments with payroll department.
- Commission and provide submission data for external salary surveys.
- Maintain integrity of compensation data in Oracle; serve as key resource for current compensation practices.
- Manage special projects as awarded.
Education and Licenses :
Bachelor's Degree required in Human Resources, Administration, Finance, Business or other related field.
Qualifications :
- 1 - 3+ years of Compensation experience.
- Preferred operating knowledge of Oracle or similar HRIS software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Superior project and time management skills.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills.
