Our client is seeking a Director of Hardware Delivery. This role will report to VP of Product and Engineering and involves overseeing an internal team of mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers, as well as managing external resources.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing and inspiring electromechanical project teams through the entire development process, from concept to production.
Experience in consumer electronics is highly desirable. The Director will be responsible for both the engineering development of new products and the sustaining engineering of legacy products.
A successful candidate will be driven to achieve results and adept at creating new engineering processes, integrating new software, and refining existing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Additionally, the candidate should have a strong background in setting up and maintaining engineering teams comprising firmware, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
Experience managing a team of 10+ staff members and working with original design manufacturers (ODMs) for product development is essential.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with CMs and ODMs to produce new products, resolve production issues, and address quality concerns.
- Oversee mechanical, electrical, and firmware staff.
- Assist in building the engineering and testing facility.
- Develop and refine engineering processes with Testing, Firmware, and Hardware Managers.
- Build and maintain an effective hardware engineering team.
- Manage departmental budgets.
- Ensure new product development meets timelines, cost goals, and quality standards.
- Lead sustaining engineering, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions with CMs.
- Report project status to executive management.
- Develop products from concept through production.
- Manage compliance certification for all products.
- Ensure project progress and timelines with project management support.
Qualifications :
- 6+ years of experience managing a team of 10+.
- 3+ years of experience working with ODMs.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong managerial and supervisory abilities.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive experience in electro-mechanical product design, FEA, and DFM.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or Business preferred; Master’s degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in a Director level role.
