General Description
The Baruch STEP Academy is an academic enrichment program focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and providing college preparation.
Managed through the CUNY Research Foundation, we serve middle and high school students throughout the city. The Fall 2024 Program will operate over 10 Saturday sessions , September 28th through December 7th (excluding November 30th).

High School Instructor (In-Person)
Course Title : Geometry Review
Course Description : This course will review content within the common core curriculum and prepare students for the regents exam.
is course will review topics from the NYSED curriculum in the preparation for the June 2025 Regents exam.
Additional Information : This course is designed for students that will take chemistry at their high school this fall.
Schedule 9 : 00am-10 : 25am
Salary $1,125 $45 / hr x 2.5 hrs (1.5hr instruction + 1 hr prep) x 10 sessions
Other Duties
- Plan, teach and prepare materials for 20-22 students
- Evaluate individual student performance
- Provide staff with measurable results in student learning through assessments
- Monitor and maintain student attendance records
- Reassess curriculum based on students' needs, interests, and understanding of materials
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required :
- Availability for each program day from 9 : 00am 10 : 25am
- Degree in mathematics, a related STEM or mathematics education
- Experience in a teaching capacity in subject area
- Experience with designing / implementing a mathematics course curriculum
- Have a strong classroom management style
Preferred :
- Prior teaching experience with middle or high school students
- Ability to engage students with creative lessons and innovative teaching style
- Possess good interpersonal skills with adolescents and a strong understanding of their maturity levels
- Enthusiasm for the subject with flexibility in adjusting curriculum to reflect students' abilities
