com / . Summary - basic function of the role This role will manage the day-to-day processes of the North American buyer / planner team.
This team directly impacts spend, working capital, margins, and costs associated with productivity / efficiencies.
Additionally, the Supply Chain Manager will own the inventory planning process including SIOP of all North America operations.
The person in this role will partner with product, commercial, finance, operations, and sourcing teams to implement and drive IBP / SOP to world class and drive improvements to business critical KPI's.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Supply Chain Management : Work with Category Managers to develop, implement, and maintain procurement strategies to balance quality, cost, and supply continuity.
- Inventory Control : Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize working capital while maintaining superior customer OTD.
Create, execute, and manage inventory planning processes per corporate standards.
- Supplier Management : Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, and act as a point of escalation to resolve supplier-related cost, quality, or pricing issues.
- Logistics / Operations Coordination : Oversee the scheduling and logistics of incoming and outgoing materials to align with production schedules efficiently.
Attend operations team meetings as appropriate.
- Team Leadership : Lead and develop the materials management team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and innovation.
- Purchasing : Working through the team of buyer / planners, execute and manage purchase orders for the required raw materials and supplies.
- Planning : Facilitate and execute SIOP and integrated business plans.
Work with sales, operations, finance and product management to develop and execute a monthly SIOP planning processes including but not limited to development of demand and / or supply plans and creation of monthly SIOP reports and metrics.
- Product Management : Support and manage the launch of new product, facilitate obsolescence, and execute ECNs both internally and externally.
- Continuous Improvement : Lead North American initiatives to drive improvements to KPI's such as cost, quality, delivery and working capital.
Improvements areas may include but are not limited to OTD, business reporting, PPV, Invoice reconciliation, inventory optimization, material flow, quality / inspection, PO management, and supplier performance, etc.. Education and Experience
- Graduate in business, supply chain, or related field with 5-8 years of supply or demand planning, purchasing, or materials management experience.
- Understanding of the end-to-end supply chain (product planning, demand planning, supply planning).
- Strong analytic skills with the capability to build complex models from large sets of data, with an expert proficiency in Excel.
SQL and relational database concepts are a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact in a cross functional environment with various departments, employee levels in the organization and with suppliers.
- Able to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to identify opportunities quickly, make sound judgments, establish, and implement solutions.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment; understand and actively support the value of teamwork
- Demonstrates ability to work against deadlines in supporting company goals.
- Result oriented and strong communication skills and ability to influence effectively at all levels.
- Ability to build and contribute to influential networks.
- High degree of ethics and personal conduct. Key Interfaces Internal :
- Americas Business units Operations, Sales Operations, Procurement, and Product Development.
- Regional Functional organizations as stakeholders and cross-functional team members : IT, Finance, Shared Services, Product development and HR. External :
- Communities of practice and professional organizations for senior and top managers
- Network of peers in own / other industries Physical Demands Employee may have to lift documents / work materials up to 30 pounds in weight.
Employee will have to be able to walk / climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air / auto to remote sites.
Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations.
Employee is able to work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time. Work Environment Primary work environment is temperature-controlled office setting but may also be visiting different manufacturing facilities where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required.
