About the role :

The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for prospecting for new customers and maintaining good relahionships with existing customers through the internet, phone calls, emails, industry meetings, sales calls, etc.

Responsibilities : About you :

About you :

  • Meet sales goals set by the General manager.
  • Prospect for new customers through the internet, phone calls, emails, industry meetings, sales calls, etc.
  • Complete a minimum number of sales calls, in person, in the assigned territory.
  • Complete a minimum number of virtual sales calls, in the assigned territory.
  • Meet with existing clients in person or virtually to maintain relationships, develop new business with existing clients, gain referrals, etc.
  • Meet with prospective clients in person or virtually to establish company relationship with prospect, present company capabilities, assess testing needs of the prospect, etc.

  • Schedule and complete phone / email contact with clients and prospects in between meetings.
  • Answer telephone and email inquiries from customers and prospective customers; direct technical questions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist current, new, and prospective customers in coordinating sample testing.
  • Prepare and send sales materials to current, new and prospective clients via email and mail such as price quotations and company literature.
  • Resolve any customer service issues together with Client Services, Director of Sales and Marketing and General Manager.
  • Attend and represent the company at trade shows and other industry functions (dinners, luncheons, seminars).
  • Maintain the company contact database for clients, leads and prospects with contact information, notes, prospective sales, and detailed call reports for all sales calls.
  • Prepare a monthly report to turn into Sales Director that includes updates for sales goals, previous sales calls, pipeline information and prospect visitation schedule.
  • Assist in marketing functions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Life Science field or two to five years relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum one to five years Sales experience.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and / or in a team environment.
  • Ability to follow instruction and work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands :

  • Sitting and / or standing for extended periods of time, up to eight (8) hours per business day.
  • Position requires significant time working at a computer, up to eight (8) hours per business day.
  • Position may require the lifting of items up to 20 lb in weight.
  • Position will require travel to client locations.
