Accountant - Staff & Systems Analyst

DFF is on a journey of growth in financial system excellence, and this role will be on a similar route. Collaborating with the Director of Finance, the role will have a growth and development path to become the expert in our accounting technology solutions.

The role will require a strong drive for partnership, learning, and technical skills to be successful. The Accounting team at DFF strives to be a value-add partner to team members across the company, and this role will be critical to meet DFF’s business objectives.

The position will be headquartered in Goodyear, AZ and report to the Director of Finance.

Essential Functions and responsibilities

• Manage assigned accounting functions and programs by following policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP, focusing on areas that touch technology solutions such as invoice automation.
• Develop extensions to the financial system using Power Platform and Azure stack, including mobile applications and business intelligence reporting.
• Drive operational efficiencies through design and utilization of technology tools organization wide.
• Collaborate across the company to support change management for successful project implementation, including documentation and training.
• Proactively analyze accounting processes to identify workflow improvements and automation opportunities.
• Participate in architecting, recommending, and executing financial system integration with new product lines and business opportunities.
• In coordination with the IT team, manage accounting system support to resolve problems, correct errors, and maintain uptime.
• Support reporting and analytics for all levels of the organization through business intelligence solutions, such as Power BI
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies by collaborating with business leaders and accounting team members.
• Perform month end close processes, including preparing / posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and automated system processes such as cost accounting.
• Actively learn and seek knowledge of the company, processes, and procedures while expanding technical skills through trainings and awareness of system trends,

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Computer Information Systems, Business Data Analytics, or similar degree OR equivalent combination of 4 years work experience
• Demonstrated ability to identify and execute process improvements within accounting or ERP systems.
• Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters in accounting, Information Systems, Business Data Analytics, or similar
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience as Staff Accountant / Systems Analyst or higher with progressive responsibilities
• Experience working in large-scale ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
• Familiarity in building extensions to financial systems, in particular Microsoft Power Platform or Excel
• Skill in leveraging available technology solutions to automate business processes.
• Familiarity with business intelligence solutions, such as Power BI.

Languages

Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred but not required

Software Required

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• ERP system experience (Microsoft Dynamics or AX preferred)
