Job Description
Goodwill is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated individual to assist participants interested in employment with navigating the complexities of Social Security and insurance benefits.
The Goodwill Benefits Consultant will :
- Assist participants interested in employment with understanding how working can affect their Social Security and insurance benefits, as well as the Disability and Work eligibility for federal, state, and county programs.
- Provide a written detailed explanation of the participant’s Social Security Administration (SSA) disability benefits and other state benefits such as : Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Childhood Disability Benefits (CDB), and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
- Assist applicants and participants seeking AbilityOne and RESPECT Florida positions provided by the agency through the initial or recertification process by obtaining eligibility documents that must accompany the application.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Rehabilitation, or related human services field. Experience may be considered in lieu of education at the discretion of the Vice President of Mission Services.
- Experience in assessing work experience, educational attainment, transferable skills, aptitudes, abilities, needs, interests, readiness for employment, and barriers that hinder employment is highly desired.
- At least one year of relevant experience in benefits coordination, case management, or a closely related field. Two years of professional experience preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication abilities, with a proficiency in maintaining electronic health records.
- Computer literate with excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) highly desirable.
