Due to great growth in the current economic climate, Orbex Group is looking for an experienced Sales and Applications Engineer to drive technical sales support and provide best in class applications support to our growing international market.

Here at Orbex Group, we are a small but nimble organization looking for someone that can wear multiple hats and problem solve along the way while maintaining typical day to day activities associated with the position.

Objectives of this Role

Increase product sales by engaging with potential and existing customers to provide solutions that fit their needs.

Provide first level of support to customers to aide in product selection and sales via phone, email and / or CRM tools.

Become technical expert on all Orbex products and various applications to support sales effort and answer associated technical questions

Support the sales organization by obtaining customer needs and converting to product solutions

Provide clear guidance to customers by creating or working with the drafting team to create customer informational drawings

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Provide initial support to customers over the phone / email / In person to aide them in the selection of the products that meet their needs

Build customer relationships by learning more about prospective customers, following up on open quotes and convert them to orders

Create new sales opportunities by researching and targeting potential customers

Prepare quotes to customers for Orbex products based on stated needs

Coordinate and support external sales representatives in a collaborative manner to enable sales.

Provide technical support and assistance on Orbex products, including slip rings, motors, motor controllers, gear reducers, and feedback devices to internal and external customers.

Minimum Skills & Abilities

BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar engineering degree, or equivalent work experience.

Ability to read and understand technical information including schematics, engineering documents and / or statement of works

Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Must be reliable, have good initiative, committed, and quality focused.

Competence with standard computer applications such as MS Office suite applications (Outlook / Word / Excel / Teams)

Strong understanding of sales and customer management processes with incorporation of CRM tools

Strong communication skills through phone, email and presentations to team members and customers.

Minimum Education & Experience

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related technical field

Experience working with motor, slip ring and / or encoder products by either use in applications or manufacture / sales

3D and 2D CAD familiarity in various applications

Experience with different motor technologies used in the industrial market
