Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities within the organization.

This position involves analyzing financial data, developing forecasts, and providing insights to drive strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the energy industry and a strong understanding of financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst

Assist with collecting and analyzing financial data in order to perform some or all of the following processes : budget development, variance reporting for supported areas, preparing internal and external reports, and identifying data issues.

Analyze financial data to identify adverse trends and recommend solutions to mitigate financial impact.

  • Applies knowledge of financial rules and concepts and company policies and procedures to resolve commonly occurring issues.
  • Assist with financial analysis and support to the team for the annual budget process, as well as support for current year and five year forecasting.
  • Provide timely and accurate assistance to clients within supported business area, including but not limited to interpretation of account codes or financial reports, providing project status reports, and work order resolution.
  • Participate in or support special projects as assigned.

Qualifications of the Senior Financial Analyst

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of financial analysis experience, with a strong background in the energy industry.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements relevant to the energy sector.
