2-Way Radio Electronics Technician - GROL Job at Day Wireless Systems in Salem

Job Description

Location : Salem, OR

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (On-call / overtime as needed)

Travel : Local and occasional overnight travel required

Summary : Under general supervision of the Field service manager to perform system design, troubleshooting, programming, and installations. Optimizes, maintains, and repairs 2-way and wireless communications systems including complex radio systems and 911 communications centers for customers.

Education and / or Experience

• Three to five years’ experience in 2-way radio and wireless communication systems theory. Able to use computer and program, troubleshoot, perform diagnostics, and repair complex communication systems.
• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or vocational school in electronics and wireless system repair is preferred but not required.
• Experience in diagnostics, repair, maintenance, program wireless communication equipment such as 2-way radios, transmitters, receivers, antennas for customers.
• Experienced with dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure, and trunked radio systems. Knowledge of radio repair, mobile installations, DC, AC, and RF Theory as it applies to wireless communications.
• Microwave and basic networking knowledge is a plus.

Licenses, Certifications : An industry license and / or certification (FCC, iNARTE, or CET). A valid driver license and insurability in the state of employment.
