LocationInitially will be based out of the Woodlands TX office, with extensive travel / responsibilities at project sites.

ResponsibilitiesProgram Management : Ensure projects are properly setup and supported to execute the safety programConduct project site audits to review records, permits, field conditions, safe work practices, and assess employee knowledge of safety policies and procedures.

Ensure Project Safety employee is completing all their responsibilitiesEnsure corporate programs and standards are executedLead safety business plan efforts for districtPrepare reports and game plan for every month DORPromote and own the safety programProvide feedback for how we can improve as an organization ways we can simplify and become more efficient / effectiveProject Visits : Proactively go to projects to assess and work with the teams to improveMajority of time should be spent on the projectsSafety Talent Development : Mentor and identify development needs for Project Safety employeesParticipate in interviewing and hiring safety professionalsBuild Relationships : Collaborate and communicate frequently with Construction Management teams.

Collaborate with safety professionals across the organizationManage Incidents : Accountable for incident management system dataEnsure projects are set up for effective treatment managementInvestigation Management : Ensure proper root cause is identified and sharedFollow any corporate, group or district protocols for incidentsQualificationsAt least Ten (10) years’ experience managing construction projects in an environmental health and safety related area specifically on energy / oil and gas related projects.

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a safety related discipline.Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred but not required.

Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on projects of increasing complexity.Knowledge of Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) / OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills.

CPR / First Aid, Emergency Medical Technician (EMTA) certification and OSHA / MSHA instructor certifications are preferred.
