Engineer - Manufacturing

Overview

Job Title : Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs, supporting new product launches, and improving machining processes to ensure production efficiency and quality. This role involves designing tooling and fixtures, preparing process documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement cost-effective manufacturing solutions. The engineer also provides technical support to production, leads continuous improvement initiatives, and works closely with vendors and customers to resolve issues and drive innovation. Engineers also offer guidance and support to Engineering Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve CNC machine programs.
• Take new products from concept to production stage.
• Design and create CAD drawings for tooling, gauges, and fixtures.
• Select and specify tooling and fixtures for machining processes.
• Prepare process sheets detailing tooling and setup requirements.
• Establish cycle times and ensure processes meet part specifications.
• Provide technical support for production operations.
• Create functional specifications for assembly operations and sign-off on integrator design.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Research and report on requirements for new production processes (cost, labor, tooling, equipment).
• Supervise buy-off of equipment and support equipment implementation.
• Collaborate with vendors and customers for problem resolution and tooling improvements.
• Create and maintain schedules to track process development and project progression.

Academic / Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
