We are in search of a Medical Billing Specialist for our client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The role involves processing and evaluating bills or invoices for services rendered in our industry.
The successful candidate will play a significant role in developing financial controls and procedures, ensuring data quality, and maintaining consistent communication with other functional teams.
This role offers a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity.
Responsibilities :
- Review and process bills or invoices for services with precision
- Evaluate billing documents and other data for accuracy, obtaining missing or correct data when necessary
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures
- Collaborate effectively with other functional teams to ensure data quality and consistency
- Use Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Outlook, and internet applications, to manage and organize data
- Enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
- Utilize skills in Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Benefit Functions, Billing Functions, Claim Administration, and Epic Hospital Billing to perform tasks effectively
- Resolve customer inquiries and monitor customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary
- Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently
- Proficient in Accounts Receivable (AR) management
- Experienced in handling billing functions
- Knowledgeable in claim administration procedures
- Familiar with benefit functions related to medical billing
- Skilled in managing appeals processes
- Proficiency in using Epic Hospital Billing system
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Prior experience in a similar role is preferred
- Relevant certification or degree in medical billing or related field is desirable
