The mission of Fathers and Families Center (FFC) is To build a noble legacy of fatherhood assisting fathers in achieving self-sufficiency and in strengthening families to improve the life chances of children.
We accomplish this by working with fathers and their families to help them to be better partners, providers and parents.
Reporting to the Controller the Bookkeeper will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day accounting activities of the organization including accounts payable and receivable (AP / AR), cash and general ledger (GL) account reconciliation, and providing administrative support to the Controller and Vice-Presidents.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Accounts Payable :
- Timely and accurate processing of AP invoices into GL system.
- Ensure expenses are accurately coded according to budget and funding source allocation.
- Process invoice for payment.
- Reconcile vendor accounts as needed.
- Maintain accurate vendor information.
Accounts Receivable :
- Monitor and accurately record accounts receivable transactions into GL.
- Research and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain monthly AR aging report.
Bank Reconciliation :
- Regularly reconcile bank statements and corporate Credit Card accounts.
- Maintain supporting documents (PO, Invoice, Check Request etc.) for expenses.
Job Requirements
- Three to four years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping, or
- Associate’s degree from an accredited school in the areas accounting, business administration or related area with two years experience.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Working knowledge with accounting software, with Sage Intact experience preferred.
