Assistant Project Coordinator - 21st CCLC (12 B Cohort)
Salary : $60,000 / yr.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in education, community development, or related field required. Relevant education and / or work experience in Human Services, Communications or related field, with an emphasis in working with youth, children and community.
- Prior experience in areas related to school / community relations, working with parents, and / or teaching students.
- Satisfactory work record & criminal / child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (day and evenings), Monday through Friday.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), organizational and data management skills, collaborative programming, interpersonal and human relation skills;
and ability to work in a non-judgmental, culturally sensitive manner.
- Consistent and demonstrated record of strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in accounting or budgeting functions.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and Allentown School District Board of Directors deem appropriate and acceptable.
Summary
In coordination with Allentown School District (ASD) school principals, teachers, staff, and agency partners, this individual manages ASD’s relationships with community partners to implement after school programs for ASD students (grades K-12) and their families.
This full-time grant-funded position is housed at the Allentown School District Administration Center or approved school building.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works in consultation with the Office of Performance Management, Equity & Accountability), 21st Century Site Locations (ASD buildings), building administrators, 21st Century Core Team, Child Nutrition Services (CNS), business office, teachers, paraprofessionals, advisory committees, community partners, and recruitment of students.
- Coordinates and aligns all before and after school programs, services, and activities with the District’s strategic plan and the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Cohort 12 program guidelines.
- Collaborates with community partners to deliver high quality academic enrichment programs including, but not limited to, tutoring in core academic subjects, planning parent and family engagement activities and extra learning opportunities through engaging hands-on activities and physical education activities to Allentown students and families as outlined in the Cohort 12 program guidelines.
Project Coordinators must be able to contact, schedule, re-schedule and plan enrichment providers.
- Collaborate with external evaluators to document attendance, meet all federal reporting requirements and make program improvements, as necessary.
- Perform data collection and management duties, including, but not limited to, the following : Maintain accurate and detailed APR student attendance spreadsheets & student tracking information, daily attendance, bus lists, demographic information, student behavior, parent contact logs, daily program activities, and other reports required by PDE.
Communicate with external local evaluators as needed. Review teacher, para and security guard timesheets and work logs before submitting to Core Team Members.
Submission of program highlights and events for 21st Century social media platforms.
- Monitor staff and students to promote safety and respect among all participants. Project Coordinators, or their designees, are responsible for students’ pickups and should remain with staff / students until the final student is picked up unless duty is covered by an approved staff member.
- Attend required 21st Century webinars, conferences, and meetings.
- Complete regular site visits to 21st Century after school program sites.
- Managing and planning of yearly budgets, ordering supplies, paying invoices, processing payroll, completing monthly expenditure reports, creating budget revisions, the ability to spend down all program funds and keeping detailed spreadsheets.
Meet regularly with ASD staff to provide program updates.
- Provide professional development for all program staff.
