Assistant Professor or Associate Professor- Pediatric General Surgery

Duties and Responsibilities :

The Pediatric General Surgery Division within the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota is seeking applications for surgeons seeking an academic career in pediatric general surgery at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Track will be determined based on the qualifications and experiences of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities include :

  • Clinical activities expected of a Pediatric General Surgeon based primarily at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital and the M Health Fairview East Region with additional sites located within the Twin Cities
  • Teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Full participation in departmental activities including but not limited to grand rounds, CEU quality meetings, and faculty meetings

Qualifications

Requirements :

  • MD degree or equivalent
  • Must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Surgery in Pediatric Surgery
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Medical License in the state of Minnesota
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing quality and compassionate patient care
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegiality with staff and partners
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and research

Preferred :

Demonstrated record of basic, translational, or clinical research experience
