Chief Executive Officer

Tulsa, OK

Established in 1955, Mental Health Association Oklahoma (MHAOK) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to promoting mental health, preventing mental disorders and achieving victory over mental illness through advocacy, education, service and housing.

Initially focused on addressing needs in the Tulsa area, the Association expanded statewide in 2014. MHAOK is known for its boots-on-the-ground approach to serving the most vulnerable Oklahomans, and the organization envisions a just, humane and healthy society in which all people are accorded respect, dignity, and the opportunity to achieve their potential, free from stigma and prejudice.

The organization facilitates life-saving mental health and housing services to more than 30,000 Oklahomans each year, navigating the rapidly growing need for mental health support and fighting to end homelessness.

The CEO will provide executive management of program delivery, resource development (including fundraising), external collaboration, finance and budgeting, and governmental affairs.

The CEO will internally build the team by filling key leadership roles as they arise, invest in and retain a diverse and inclusive team, and they will have the opportunity to continue building a positive culture in a challenging environment.

They will employ strong business acumen and financial savvy and will work with community leaders, service providers, partner agencies, and funders to foster the agency’s mission.

• knows how to increase the visibility and philanthropic resources for the organization; can point to success in creating strong, effective, and collaborative teams;

has sound business, financial, and management acumen; and the fortitude to carry forward major new projects and initiatives.

Job Opening Basic Qualifications :

A bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university is required; an advanced degree in public health or the clinical sciences is desirable.

The candidate must have a minimum of five to ten years of senior managerial experience leading a large, complex organization.

Knowledge of and experience dealing with professional and governmental regulatory, accrediting and licensing agencies is preferred.

Affiliation with and leadership in local state or national professional association and continuing education, and professional development is a plus.

Additional Information :

The salary range for this position annually is between $225,000 $275,000 and will be commensurable with experience. Mental Health Association Oklahoma also offers a comprehensive benefits package.
