- Excellent grasp of psychopathology, diagnostic systems, risk assessment, and management.
- Possess a strong work ethic and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Ability to problem solve and respond to complex, urgent situations in a timely manner while exercising sound judgment, discretion, cultural sensitivity, and diplomacy.
- Have proficiency in oral and written communication skills, public speaking, and leading group presentations and discussions.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently manage spontaneous work demands, as well as projects that require advanced planning.
- Ability to professionally interact with and respond to a variety of staff, faculty, students, community partners, and administrators.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to spend a considerable time in the office with clients and at a desk using a computer.
- Ability to travel to other buildings on the campus.
- Ability to attend conferences and training sessions locally or out of state.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a master’s or doctoral degree in an applied mental health field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Psychology) at the time of hire.
- Licensed or license-eligible within one year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Hold a doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology and complete a pre-doctoral internship prior to the date of hire.
Recent graduates will receive required supervision by a licensed psychologist on staff.
- Licensed in the state of TN at the time of hire
- Experience as a clinical supervisor (includes supervision provided to other trainees while in a doctoral program)
- Experience working in a university counseling center or other multidisciplinary clinic
- Demonstrated knowledge and sensitivity to a wide range of personal diversity and multicultural issues, and an ability to fully embrace a campus community and multicultural model that values social justice principles.
- Experience / training in treating presenting concerns commonly seen in young adults (sexual assault, trauma, eating and body issues, LGBTQIA+ issues, ADHD, etc.)
