Armand Corporation, an award-winning M / WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Construction Environmental Manager for a federal construction project related to complex rail, transit, and other transportation projects in NY & NJ.
The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience in construction project management and compliance with environmental regulations, as well as a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
This position will be full-time, on-site. Candidates are expected to live in or near the New York metropolitan area .
Roles and Responsibilities
- Identify environmental aspects and impacts across large-scale civil construction projects; Ensuring compliance of the environmental management plans. .
- Work together with planning managers to ensure all key environment milestones are reached.
- Provide legal counsel on technical documents to ensure conformity with contractual and legal aspects of construction project.
- Develop mitigations to reduce environmental impact from the construction program.
- Provide reports on environmental issues; addressing complaint investigations and incidents.
- Participate in update meetings to relay and address any environmental issues that may arise.
- Develop and maintain the environmental key risks and issues log to be used to report to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in NEPA documentation preparation for FRA / FTA programs
- Expertise in managing a team and task management including budget, schedule, data analysis, report preparation, and client relationship management
- Membership in an environmental or sustainability body preferred.
- Excellent knowledge and practical experience of environmental legal requirements, including legislation related to archaeology, air quality, noise and vibration, surface and groundwater, contaminated land, waste, ecology, and built heritage.
- Experience with environmental management systems compliant with ISO14001 : 2015.
- Ability to pass a TWIC and / or SWAC Background Check at High Level.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
