Purpose / Introduction
We are seeking an IT Manager to join our team as an IT Manager for the new Golden Triangle Polymers facility located in Orange, TX.
This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and be part of a team contributing to the design, startup, and operation of a new plant from the ground up.
This position will report to the IT Manufacturing Systems Manager and indirectly to the Plant Manager. This position will be responsible for leading the site IT team and all IT project and support activities performed at the plant.
The successful candidate should be a strong advocate for digital transformation efforts and for plant needs.
This position will be assigned to the project location in Orange, TX and will transition to ongoing operations following commissioning and startup with an expected commitment through stable start-up operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the plant leadership team, including leadership participation in plant initiatives and safety activities
- Oversee IT vendors and onsite contractors
- Work with project groups to implement the required local IT systems for the plant
- Proactively maintain the availability of IT resources at the plant and provide efficient IT resources
- Manage a yearly expense and capital budgets within plant and corporate guidelines
- Provide timely and accurate updates to management when IT issues arise
- Develop good working relationships with the groups within GTPC plant, and Business Transformation organizations
- Manage Industrial Control System (ICS) Security in alignment with company standards and priorities, working closely with the ICS Security group and the Manufacturing Measurements and Controls teams
- Develop and manage IT capital projects and utilize new digital toolset (such as Jira) to track these projects
- Work with other sites to develop and implement IT best practices and share information
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School Diploma / GED and at least 10 years of related IT experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing environment and processes related to HR, change management, and project management activities
- Proven analytical, problem solving, and technical ability
- Experience managing end-user devices / environment
- Strong customer service orientation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels within the organization
- Able to effectively prioritize and execute multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications
- An associate’s degree or higher in IT
- Demonstrated leadership experience
