Job Description
The RN-BS Completion & MS Nursing Programs Advisor is responsible for providing equity-minded academic advising services for 500 diverse undergraduate students pursuing the 100% online RN Baccalaureate Completion Program (2 / 3 time) and 50-100 diverse graduate students pursuing the 100% online MS Advanced Professional Nursing Program (1 / 3 time).
This position focuses on retention and intrusive advising for the RN-BS Completion Program, and serves as the advisor for the online MS Advanced Professional Nursing program. Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in counseling & student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or other closely related field.
- Minimum two (2) years of full-time advising, coaching, or in the provision of support services, directly related to academic advising (i.
e. admissions, registrar, career development, orientation, teaching etc.)
Drivers License.

- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Computer skills and experience with student record systems and other technologies used in the provision of academic advising including online and media to support advising.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret information with attention to detail and accuracy including an ability to acquire and develop knowledge of relevant academic programs, policies, procedures, and resources.
- Evidence of ability to work independently and consult effectively from remote locations.
Other Requirements Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
Most work will occur at a computer with periods of sitting or standing.
Occasional travel within Minnesota for recruiting and promotional events which may occur on evenings and / or weekends.

Remote Work : A position where the employee, as a condition of employment, has their home or alternative location as the assigned work location, works permanently from that location, and does not have an agency permanent / principal work location.
