About US 1 Shorthaul's General Laborer Position :
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Bale plastic and cardboard
- Responsible for waste management, including the proper disposal of warehouse, restroom, and breakroom refuse
- Perform routine grounds maintenance, including the removal of trash and debris from yard
- Utilize sit-down forklift as needed
- Loading and unloading
- Verifying shipments
- Marking and labeling
- Identifying workplace safety hazards
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES :
- Attention to detail
- Good knowledge of industrial equipment
- Ability to operate a two-way radio
- Physical ability to perform manual labor
- Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for the duration of shift
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Spatial awareness
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Valid certification to operate forklifts (required)
- Prior warehouse experience (required)
POSITION TYPE :
- This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position, paid weekly
- Hours worked over 40 hours in 1-week qualify for overtime (paid time and a half)
