Job Description
The Assistant Restaurant Manager reports directly to the Restaurant Manager and assists with the responsibility of all aspects of the full-service restaurant, lounge, Grubhub, and in-room dining operations at The Blackwell Inn and Pfahl Conference Center;
ensures efficient and consistent guest service and offering a memorable dining experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with overall operations, scheduling, payroll, maintenance of quality standards, training and performance management.
This position supervises a large Ohio State University student staff and must possess organizational capabilities, creativity, flexibility and the commitment required to successfully manage the restaurant, lounge and in-room dining operations.
Runs the operation profitably, being a hands-on manager ensuring full implementation of standards of service, cleanliness and condition, safety, sustainability and the highest levels of guest satisfaction.
Handles guest complaints expeditiously to complete resolution. Works closely with the culinary team to exceed guest expectations throughout their experience.
Flexible work hours to meet the demands of the operation; must be open to working all shifts-evenings, mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualification
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred.
4 years of relevant experience required. 6 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
