Registered Nurse (RN)
Responsibilities :
The Registered Nurse (RN) will deliver comprehensive nursing care, execute Licensed Independent Provider's orders, administer medications, and assist in patient examinations and treatment.
This role involves caring for and managing the health needs of inmates / residents, conducting sick calls, handling emergencies, and performing clinical procedures within the RN's scope of practice.
Additional responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, maintaining medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and contributing to the safety and security of the medical unit.
Skills Required :
- Monitor inmate / resident hospitalizations and coordinate early releases.
- Supervise and guide licensed and non-licensed medical staff.
- Maintain strong relationships with facility staff and external healthcare providers.
- Evaluate and ensure the appropriate use of medical services.
- Maintain confidentiality of medical records.
- Assist with medical audits and compliance with pharmacy laws.
- Provide health counseling and education.
- Handle safety, security, and emergency protocols in the medical unit.
- Facilitate accreditation of the medical program where applicable.
- Conduct searches and ensure the security of the facility.
Qualifications :
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
- Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Compensation : $59 / hour
