JOB SUMMARY - DRIVER
The Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate will make deliveries in the morning and spend the remainder of the workday in the warehouse.
As a driver, deliver products to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner. Establish and maintain outstanding relations with customers.
Use discretion to determine efficiencies in routes and timelines Inspects delivery vehicles and ensures the safety and security of the loading and unloading process.
In the warehouse, verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material and arranging for the transportation of products.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Load, transport, and deliver items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
- Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
- Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling customer complaints.
- Adhere to assigned routes and following time schedules.
- Abide by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
- Operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Operates machine to slit continuous lengths of material.
- Examines contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
- Prepares documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
- Determines shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes.
- Contacts carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Confers and corresponds with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications.
- Delivers or routes materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
- Computes amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and demurrage charges, using calculator or price list.
- Packs, seals, labels, and affixes postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter.
- Perform other duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- CDL license not required
- Prior route experience a plus
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of related experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to operate machinery
- Hazmat experience
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Oracle experience a plus
- Must have excellent driving record
- All drivers must be over 21 years old for insurance purposes
- 6 a.m. 3 p.m. schedule with some overtime based on delivery schedules
