The Agnes Irwin School's Visual and Performing Arts Department is seeking a part-time Dance Teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Candidates should possess a passion for dance, teaching, and enjoy working in an academic environment with colleagues who value collaboration as well as independence.
Dance at Agnes Irwin focuses on the artistic values and physical benefits of this art form. The Dance Teacher will work with both Middle School students primarily as part of activities that occur outside of the normal school day.

Responsibilities include :
- Teach classes to Middle School students in a variety of styles including : jazz, hip hop, ballet and tap from 3pm to 3 : 30pm from mid November through February
- Choreograph and teach two numbers for our February dance recital
- Assist in the choreography, direction and production of the February dance recital
- Additional opportunities could be available to choreograph numbers for our middle school musical, teach dance classes to lower school students, and to coordinate costumes for the February dance recital.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in fine arts, dance, dance education, drama and theater arts or closely related field required
- Previous experience teaching dance to middle and / or high school age students required
- Previous choreographing experience
- Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and respect different values and viewpoints
