Job Description
- Should have experience in working with and keen understanding of the following in the past we had candidates that only had experience in working with some of those such as Email Studio and Content Builder.
- Email Studio
- Content Builder
- Content Blocks within templates
- Ampscript (read the output)
- Web Studio (Cloudpages)
- Interactions
- Extracts
- Events
- Imports
- File Transfers
- SFMC Data model
ex. All subscriber vs Contacts
- SOAP vs REST vs Transactional (each have overlapping functions but have different use cases and capabilities that are separate of one another).
- How Business Units work (there are many configurations that distinguish one from another, especially unsubscribes)
- How subscriptions work and the different statuses
- Automation Studio
- Journey Builder
- API's (SOAP / REST / Transactional)
- Email Delivery
- Email clients vary in terms of how they will deal with email. Gmail will render emails different from Outlook and Yahoo, etc.
- Gmail will mark email adversely if they are image heavy, are over 100KB, and have no mobile (media queries)
- This is a nice to have but if you work in this space, you should have an understanding how the digital marketing eco system works and how it has its nuances.
- Email Development
- Inbox previews (know what to look for in template QA using various clients and / or use tools like Litmus, Email on Acid, etc)
- Understand mobile vs desktop
- Should be able to write test cases based on the SFMC developments i.e. Email vs Automation vs Journey and how to test the components that are necessary for the final output at runtime.
