Accountability

Reporting to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager, the Service Assistant maintains the restaurant’s interior and exterior, keeping all areas clean and organized.

Keeps dining room tables cleaned and sanitized. Maintains adequate supply of pots, pans, dishes, glassware, utensils and ice in service areas throughout shift.

Keeps front and back of the house area clean, organized and stocked, at all times, to provide timely guest service

Key Business Areas - A Key Business Area is an area of performance in which the Service Assistant must be successful to meet their accountabilities.

Successful results in the Key Business Areas are supported by the following behaviors or actions :

1. Busses, cleans, and resets tables

2. Checks restrooms and hand washing stations every half hour for cleanliness and supplies

3. Maintains exterior curb appeal, keeps restaurant exterior and parking lot free of debris

4. Maintains restaurant interior to be clean, safe and inviting for guests and employees

5. Regularly cleans and inspects dish machine and other machinery as required, maintains proper dish machine chemical levels

6. Properly sorts and washes all dishware and promptly replenishes kitchen and dishware in service areas

7. Immediately cleans up spills and broken glasses and dishes

8. Addresses complaints and requests promptly in a courteous manner and notifies the supervisor of any issues

9. Assists with stocking deliveries; rotates perishable stock in accordance with standards

10. Performs side work and other deep cleaning duties as assigned

11. Willingly assists others without being asked

12. Adheres to Denny’s Brand Standards and internal policies and procedures

13. Provides prompt and courteous service and is cordial to all team members and guests

14. Completes all other tasks and duties as assigned

Essential Functions

1. Must be able to lift and arry supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs throughout shift, places items on high and low shelves in store rooms, service areas, walk-in coolers and freezers

2. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, wipe, lift, and grab

3. Must have sufficient mobility to move and operate in work area

4. Must be able to work inside and outside

5. Must be able to observe wares for cleanliness and chemical labels for safe handling

6. Must be able to stand and walk during a 4-to-8-hour shift

7. Must be able to frequently immerse hands in water

8. Must be able to work with all Denny’s menu products

9. Must be able to hear well in a loud environment to respond to employee and guest needs

10. Must meet any state, county or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling

11. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes in kitchen and freezer areas

12. Must be able to work with potentially hazardous chemicals

Responsabilidad

El asistente de servicio, que depende del Gerente General y del Gerente del Restaurante, mantiene la limpieza y organización del interior y exterior del restaurante.

Mantiene las mesas del comedor limpias e higienizadas. Mantiene un suministro adecuado de ollas, sartenes, platos, cristalería, utensilios y hielo, en áreas de servicio durante todo el turno.

Mantiene las áreas del frente y la parte posterior del restaurante limpias, organizadas y abastecidas en todo momento, para brindar un servicio al huésped sin demoras.

1. Limpia y prepara las mesas y las vuelve a poner en orden.

2. Revisa cada media hora la limpieza y los suministros de los baños y las estaciones de lavado de manos.

3. Mantiene el exterior atractivo; mantiene el exterior y el estacionamiento sin desechos.

4. Mantiene el interior del restaurante limpio, seguro y acogedor para huéspedes y empleados.

5. Limpia e inspecciona regularmente la máquina de lava platos y otros aparatos según sea necesario; mantiene los niveles adecuados de los productos químicos de la máquina de lava platos.

6. Ordena y lava correctamente toda la vajilla, y repone rápidamente los elementos de la cocina y vajilla en las áreas de servicio.

7. Limpia inmediatamente derrames, vidrios y platos rotos.

8. Atiende quejas y pedidos de inmediato y en forma amable, y le informa al supervisor si hay algún problema.

9. Ayuda con las entregas de abastecimiento; rota los alimentos perecederos de acuerdo a los estándares.

10. Realiza tareas adicionales y otros trabajos de limpieza profunda, según se le asignen.

11. Está dispuesto a ayudar a los demás sin que se lo soliciten.

12. Cumple con los estándares, las políticas y los procedimientos internos de Denny’s.

13. Brinda un servicio esmerado y cortés, y es cordial con todos los miembros del equipo y los huéspedes.

14. Realiza todas las demás tareas y deberes, según se le asignen.

Funciones esenciales

1. Debe poder levantar y cargar suministros y equipos de hasta 50 libras durante todo el turno; colocar productos en estantes altos y bajos en depósitos, áreas de servicio, cámaras refrigeradoras y congeladores.

2. Debe poder flexionarse, inclinarse, extenderse, limpiar, levantar y asir objetos.

3. Debe tener la movilidad suficiente para moverse y desenvolverse en el área de trabajo.

4. Debe poder trabajar en el interior y en el exterior del local.

5. Debe poder observar la limpieza de los productos y examinar las etiquetas de los productos químicos para que haya un manejo seguro.

6. Debe poder estar de pie y caminar durante un turno de 4 a 8 horas.

7. Debe poder sumergir las manos en agua con frecuencia.

8. Debe poder trabajar con todos los productos del menú de Denny’s.

9. Debe poder oír bien en un ambiente ruidoso para responder a las necesidades de empleados y clientes.
