Position Summary

The Assistant Director reports to the Office of Orientation and Academic Success Director. The Assistant Director is pivotal in supporting the implementation, assessment, and enhancement of student orientation and academic success programs.

The Assistant Director actively contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Office of Orientation and Academic Success's commitment to student persistence and integration while supporting the OAS Director.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with the OAS Director to foster a collaborative and integrated approach to orientation and academic success initiatives.
  • Provide support in leadership and supervision for OAS staff.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring staff to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Assist in data analytics and key performance indicators to support decision-making
  • Assist in identifying trends and patterns to guide program improvements.
  • Contribute to preparing regular reports on programs’ effectiveness, student outcomes, and other relevant metrics.
  • Support the OAS Director in managing budgetary resources effectively.
  • Assist in seeking external funding opportunities and grants to support program initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff to promote awareness and participation in relevant programs.
  • Contribute to implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance the impact of programs over time.
  • Support the mission and values of Holy Family University.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least two years experience in higher education, student affairs, or a related field.
  • Strong collaboration, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Technological acumen and willingness to learn new programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of and ability to follow university policies and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the campus community.
  • Excellent written and oral skills

Work Environment

Operates in an office environment, that may have frequent interruptions. The area is well-lit, temperature controlled and free from hazards.

Noise level is generally quiet to moderate.

Physical Requirements

Communicates frequently, in person, over the phone, or via a computer. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communication.

Regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. Manual dexterity is needed in order to operate a computer keyboard.

Operates standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
