n for Test Engineering Manager :

The Test Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers and test technicians as they develop as they develop and execute testing solutions for electrical hardware.

This testing would include functional testing as well as in-circuit testing for electronics. This person will also be hands on and execute test processes on their own.

R esponsibilities for Test Engineering Manager :

  • Manages and oversees the requirements gathering, documentation, design, build, validation, implementation, change control, version control and on-going quality assurance of inhouse testing devices including related purchased or written inhouse software.
  • Works with customers to co-develop test systems or implement existing customer developed test systems.
  • Ensures test software is developed to current industry standards.
  • Manages and implements the appropriate testing traceability in coordination with the currently implemented Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to capture the required test data for units under test.
  • Ensures testing equipment is functioning to documented requirements to prevent false results.
  • Performs yield and tester quality analysis to implement continual improvements for both the test devices / software and test procedures.
  • Manages the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of testing procedures and strategies for products, systems, components, or modifications to testers and procedures.
  • Acts as an advisor to the test engineering team regarding projects, tasks and operations.
  • Acts as the liaison to other engineering functions and other functional groups.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Hires, trains, and mentors other engineers and supporting staff.
  • Ensures the test engineering group continues professional development to remain knowledgeable as technology changes.
  • Works with other functional groups to improve manufacturing processes and yields.
  • Interacts and effectively communicates with customers and co-workers at all levels.

Requirements for Test Engineering Manager :

  • BA / BS in Engineering or relevant field
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience writing and managing software development for test applications utilizing C, C#, .Net, Visual Basic, SQL, Labview or other current industry standard programming languages and tools.
  • Project management experience for testing or other device development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office
  • In depth knowledge of corporate risk management practices
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
