The Department of Computer Science at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2024 to teach CS 211 : Computer Science II Lab.

Course Description

A continuation of program design and development. Introduction to data structures : stacks, queues, linear lists, trees, and sets.

Includes pointers recursion, and implementation and analysis of sorting and searching algorithms. Extensive programming is required.

Includes introduction to parallel models and algorithms, problem state space, relational database, and numerical approximation methods.

Minimum qualifications :

  • A master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science and related fields
  • Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California.

Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

Preferred qualifications :

  • A doctorate or equivalent in Computer Science and related fields
  • Experience teaching similar courses in 4-year universities
  • Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and / or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience

  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range : $4,530 - $5,075 per full-time month
  • CSU Classification Salary Range : $4,530 - $6,056 per full-time month
