We are searching for an Accounting Manager / Supervisor in the sales and distribution sector, based in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving customer inquiries.
They will also be required to monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement accounting policies, technical accounting analyses, and procedures.
- Assist the accounting team during the closing process to ensure deadlines are met.
- Prepare and coordinate fiscal year-end audits.
- Conduct sophisticated preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Generate timely reports on financial data analytics such as actual spend against budgets / outlook, the monthly flash report, and key financial metrics.
- Regularly reconcile accounts to completion.
- Produce ad hoc financial reports as needed.
- Encourage a competent, trained staff through goal setting, regular assessment, and development.
- Implement and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Recognize and implement process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency.
- Monitor customer credit applications and maintain accurate customer credit records.
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Automotive industry
- Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Functions including General Ledger, Month End Close, Journal Entries, and Accruals
- Experience in Auditing and Billing Functions
- Advanced skills in handling and maintaining accounting records and financial reports
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive in identifying and resolving issues
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
