Novant Health is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge, to join our pharmacy team, to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, every time.

The Pharmacist in Charge serves as part of the healthcare team at Novant Health by supporting authentic personalized relationships with patients and their chosen support system, collaborating with team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health.

The pharmacist accepts responsibility, authority, accountability and ownership for management and provision of care in accordance with current policies and procedures.

Essential functions include :

• Oversees the daily operation of the pharmacy
• Retrieves and evaluates relevant biomedical literature, formulates appropriate responses, and provides concise and timely response to drug information requests
• Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with best practice, policies and state and federal regulations
• Designs, recommends, monitors, and evaluates patient specific pharmacotherapeutic regimens
• Clinical review and order verification of pharmacy prescriptions, including hazardous and non-hazardous medications.
• Communicate with clinic providers and nursing to provide remarkable patient care
• Demonstrate proficiency with equipment and software
• Precept pharmacy residents (PGY1 / PGY2) and pharmacy students
• Participate in committees such as P&T, Excelera Network sub-groups and shared governance
• Medication therapy management and patient counseling
• Promote a culture of quality and safety and adhere to policies and procedures relating to Quality Improvement Program
