The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Global Business Operations ( GBO ) and Business Insights & Analytics ( BI&A ) Relationship Management role is responsible for managing and nurturing relationships between GBO, BI&A, and its key stakeholders, such as suppliers, business and functional partners, and leadership teams.
This role will collaborate with internal and external teams to align business goals to service objectives, including the creation of strategies to improve relationships and drive business growth.
It is critical that this role facilitates effective communication and collaboration between teams and often is seen as a subject matter expert for strategic relationships across GBO and BI&A.
This role will focus on cultivating a 360-degree view across requisite stakeholders to develop innovative and productive partnerships for BMS.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
Strategic Stakeholder (Internal and External) Relationship Management
Serve as a strategic advisor for assigned categories and relationships, which include : Consulting, Finance and BI&A. Support demand management, spend optimization, negotiations and rate card standardization, make versus buy decisions, optimal suppliers to leverage, facilitating governance and compliance processes, and driving consistent, frameworks to support decision making.
Provide strategic guidance and support to SS&P category leads and business partners on Preferred Supplier Programs, Supplier enabled innovation, and account related tangibles.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand needs, objectives, expectations, forecasts and roadmaps, and advise teams on how to translate these into strategic procurement and relationship management strategies.
Leverage external market research / reports to drive strategic excellence.
Support relationship development, performance evaluation metrics, management, and governance with critical suppliers.
Enable supplier success by supporting strategic partners, providing forums for continuous innovation and thought leadership, encouraging suppliers to maximize BMS investments, and fostering engagement, as appropriate, in key BMS programs and thought leadership events.
Address and resolve escalations that may arise in critical relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Solve for a multi-dimensional book of business / supplier challenges
Gather feedback from partners and other stakeholders through individual conversations, satisfaction surveys, etc.
Translate into continuous improvement ideas and targets
Actively communicate and present enterprise findings to SS&P and business leadership to drive cohesive, unified decision-making.
Enterprise Performance Enablement & Monitoring
Drive performance through fit for purpose governance programs, frameworks, and execution, monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and contractual compliance across key suppliers.
Leverage data and analytics to understand trends, measure the success of relationship management strategics and make data-driven decisions to improve outcomes.
Provide financial and performance reporting.
Identify potential risks associated with supplier relationships and develop mitigation plans to ensure business continuity, in partnership with Category Leads, Third Party Risk Management ( TPRM ) and other ES Supplier Relationship Management functions.
Stay informed about industry regulations, compliance requirements, and ethical procurement practices to ensure SS&P engagements adhere to relevant standards.

SS&P senior leadership : including regular engagement with VP of Enabling Services, Senior Director of GBO and BI&A Professional Services, SS&P Category Leads and Business Partners

Third Party Vendors / Supplier Management
Qualifications
Minimum education of a B.S. / B.A is required; M.S / M.B.A preferred.
Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant business experience, five (5) of which years being multi-disciplined procurement / third party management experience.
Experience leading and participating on cross-functional and / or global teams
Strategic mindset with ability to bring industry expertise and perspective to leadership.
Expert communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of Business Process Outsourcing management.
Strong experience in Professional Services categories and with outsourced supplier relationships
Professional certifications (e.g., CPM, CPIM)
3 years Pharmaceutical Procurement experience
Membership in Professional Associations, e.g., ISM
Experience and / or knowledge of Artificial Intelligence use cases (nice to have)
