PRIMARY PURPOSE
Watertown Enterprises is seeking a diligent and experienced Construction Controller to join our dynamic team. As a Construction Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proven track record in construction accounting and financial management.
ROUTINE DUTIES :
- Maintain a working knowledge of accounting procedures which includes, but is not limited to, general journal entries, adjusting journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, analyze financial statements, and reporting to upper management.
- Manage all financials aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
- Manages all aspects of the company’s financial and accounting functions (i.e., budgeting, forecasting, cash management, job cost accounting, accounts payable / receivable, taxes, and bank reconciliation).
- Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts.
- Maintain numerous excel spreadsheets (i.e., cash forecast sheets, scorecards, interest, company reconciliations, etc).
- Monitor project profits and collaborate with project managers, general superintendents, and company management.
- Work with company management on fixed assets purchases and return on investment.
- Working with company management to incorporate process and cost improvement strategies.
- Work with a construction software system, such as Procore, to ensure accuracy of financials and forecasts.
- Monitor and forecast cash flow trends from a billing, AR, AP, and cash receipt perspective.
- Works a year end with external auditors to get final audited financial reports.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in construction accounting.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Education : Bachelors in Accounting (4 year degree), CPA or CCIFP certification preferred
Experience : 5+ years as an accountant
