IT Project Manager I
SUMMARY :
Under general supervision, the IT Project Manager is responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans when necessary to meet project objectives.
This position assembles project plans, monitors work efforts daily, performs quality reviews, and escalates functional, quality, and timeline issues appropriately.
The IT Project Manager coordinates communication with all project team members and affected stakeholders.
You must be eligible to work in the US without Visa Sponsorship.
JOB DUTIES
- Maintains responsibility for tasks and activities related to a project e.g., communication, documentation, reporting, maintaining schedules, etc.
- Ensures software specifications and delivery plans are comprehensive and executed according to plan.
- Ensures projects are delivered on time and according to specifications.
- Transitions projects to an operational status with adequate and appropriate support models.
- Ensures application performance meets requirements through standard coding techniques.
- Suggests performance improvement changes.
- Keeps key stakeholders informed of project status.
- Communicates with Senior Project Manager regarding status of specific projects.
- Works under specific guidance of more senior project managers.
- Partners with the lines of business to understand their business processes and needs.
- Elicits software requirements and documents them in a development ready manner.
- Interactions primarily with internal IT project team members.
- Provides feedback to resource managers on project team performance.
- Informs manager of any cost savings opportunities.
- Projects are short in duration and have minimal number of team members to accomplish tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Typically has a bachelor's degree with three (3) to five (5) years of work experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Basic knowledge in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, and change management techniques.
- Good facilitation and communication skills.
- Understanding of object-oriented analysis and design.
- Developing ability to manage change and engage team members.
- Understanding of structured application development and change control methodologies.
- Developing ability to provide direction and leadership to others.
- Basic knowledge of database design, programming languages and coding techniques.
