Department Summary

The Technology Operations team oversees the design, development, implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and operations of IT platforms, systems, and applications in service of administrative units.

The team also monitors the effectiveness and service delivery standards of these technologies to ensure business outcomes are met through innovative technologies.

Additionally, the team focuses on process improvement and service excellence to key campus customers.The Events & Transportation Products team oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a suite of products essential for activities such as venue scheduling, campus traffic / parking, and vehicle management.

The team stays up to date on emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending improvements to campus operations.

Position Summary

The Product Owner, Parking & Fleet Products will play a critical role in the strategy, implementation, and continuous improvement of UCLA's Parking & Fleet products by creating and supporting a product vision, roadmap, and backlog.

They will work to ensure these products align with the university's strategic objectives and meet the evolving needs of UCLA's students, faculty, and staff.

The Product Owner will conduct customer research and collaborate with key stakeholders across the university to develop and convey a distinct product vision.

The Product Owner, Parking & Fleet Products will be responsible for driving innovation and excellence by working closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and users to define requirements, prioritize features, and deliver exceptional value.

The Product Owner, Parking & Fleet Products will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling IT platforms, systems, and applications to service the institution's academic, research, and service mission.

This team member will advance the university's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students.

This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.

Salary & Compensation

UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

Qualifications

Five years experience working in one or more of the following fields : information technology, computer science, management, higher education, or a related field.

Required) Five years experience working in one or more of the following fields : higher education auxiliary services, parking or fleet services, or a related field.

Required) Seven or more years experience working in one or more of the following fields : information technology, computer science, management, higher education, higher education auxiliary services, parking or fleet services.

Preferred) Advanced knowledge of product development concepts, practices, standards, and processes. (Required)Proven ability to identify key issues critical to the organization's long-range success of a desired product or service.

Required)Analytical mindset, with experience in data-driven decision-making and performance measurement. (Required)Proven track record of delivering successful products that meet user needs and drive value.

Required)Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders.

Can relay technical information to audiences of technical and non-technical stakeholders. (Required)Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with a diverse community of colleagues including team members, stakeholders, and customers.

Required)Advanced organizational skills, ability to balance priorities, deliver concurrent projects to various stakeholders.

Ability to work in a project-based environment using project management practices. (Required)Advanced problem-solving skills;

ability to identify root problems and scope solutions based on knowledge of resources, timelines, vision and strategy. Seeks information from diverse sources to inform solutions.

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

Bachelor's Degree in one or more of the following fields : information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration, communications or a related field.

Preferred) PMP Certification within the last four years (Preferred) Cybersecurity certification such as Security+ within the last four years (Preferred)

Special Conditions for Employment

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel / lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement).

The anticipated pay range for this position is $135,740-$157,071, annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.

8 : 00 A.M. to 5 : 00 P.M. PT, Monday through Friday and / or variable based upon operational needs.
