Responsibilities

About This Role :

The IT Program Manager is responsible for managing the technical project management lifecycle. This manager may also lead a team who is responsible for successfully administering projects, working closely with them as they develop their business and project management acumen.

This individual will ensure consistent application of the Global Project Portfolio Management processes and procedures, and will be responsible for portfolio level reporting for all programs.

JOB DUTIES

  • Leads and oversees overall project status management and deliverables for entire portfolio
  • Responsible for the deliverables, cost, schedule, and quality of portfolio
  • Develops / reviews / approves project plans and scope
  • Manages risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies
  • Allocates and directs staff and other resources to accomplish project tasks
  • Updates the team about its progress and provides the team with support and direction
  • Manages and help project managers with coordination of people, tasks and dependencies to execute accordingly to the project plan
  • Produces timely and accurate reports to key stakeholders regarding progress, conflicts, risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies
  • Resolves any issues with vendor resources working on different projects
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with vendor resources, vendor management, development teams, stakeholder and senior management Establishes a reliable communication channel with all stakeholders
  • Has thorough understanding of business matters and technical concepts required for successful project delivery
  • Uses appropriate knowledge, creativity, priorities, pragmatic and company practices to obtain solutions to complex problems
  • Interfaces with senior management on one side and assist project managers to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction
  • Hold regular meetings with Business leaders to provide updates on program level status
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to collaborate with different levels of hierarchy
  • Strong understanding of software development practices and architecture patterns & principles
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to create and manage program plans, budgets, and resources effectively
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to drive consensus and manage stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to Identify and understand technical dependencies between initiatives
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or additional equivalent work or military experience preferred

Experience

  • 7-10 years IT project management experience required
  • 3-5 years experience in relative technology roles required
  • Financial services industry experience preferred

Licenses

  • PMP certification preferred
  • Scrum Master Certification preferred
