Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with expertise in CNC mills and lathes to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment, as well as performing first article inspections and training operators.
You should be proficient in G-Code programming (Fanuc Controls is a must, Prototrak is helpful) and capable of producing parts to exact specifications.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities :
Programming & Set-Up : Create and run CNC programs using G-Code directly on machines or offline. Utilize CAM systems for ease of programming.
Experience with Fanuc Controls is required, and familiarity with Prototrak is beneficial.
- Full Job Set-Up : Plan jobs from start to finish, including reviewing prints, selecting materials, choosing work holding techniques, cutting tools, and measuring equipment, as well as completing inspection reports.
- Machine Operation : Operate CNC mills and lathes by making tool offsets, changing tools, and inspecting parts for accuracy.
Responsible for first article inspections, FPQP, and PPAP LVL 3 at an expert level.
- Training : Train machine operators on setup and operation of CNC machinery.
- Manual Machine Operation : Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, and band saws. Measure parts, record results, deburr parts, and maintain quality control.
- Deburring : Perform deburring operations using various tools such as belt sanders, deburring knives, vibratory deburring machines, and bench grinders.
- Maintenance & Miscellaneous Duties : Add coolant and oil to machines, perform basic machine cleaning, and manage chip barrels.
Package parts and conduct simple machine repairs as needed.
Safety & Cleanliness : Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman Card in Precision Machining, Tool and Die, or Mold Making is helpful but not required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a machining environment, with at least 3 years in G-Code programming.
- Proficient in the use of measuring tools such as scales, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, micrometers, and thread gauges.
- Must own machinist tools and measuring equipment.
- Ability to lift and push at least 35 pounds, and repetitively lift lighter weights.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to use a computer for scanning time and job tracking.
