Yes Pay Information $45.100-$57,500 Pay Schedule Hourly FLSA Designation Non-Exempt Position Summary Under general direction from landscape services manager the landscape mechanic III will perform maintenance and repairs on various types of equipment used in landscaping, construction, waste management, irrigation, snow removal, other equipment and related duties as needed.
This involves conducting both minor fixes and major overhauls on all machinery and equipment within the department. Tasks include working on engines (gasoline, diesel, and electric), transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC systems, suspension, drive trains, brakes, tires, bodywork, and other related equipment.
Additionally, repair or replace landscape fixtures like fences, benches, and exterior signs. Supervise and train equipment operators in maintaining and repairing their equipment.
Generate work orders and maintain detailed records of repairs, including tracking time and costs. Develop and adhere to a preventive maintenance schedule for department equipment, as well as manage an inventory of parts, chemicals, metals, and other maintenance-related items.
Operate and upkeep the street sweeper as needed. Fulfill other assigned duties, which may include call back for any grounds related emergency and to assist in snow and ice removal.
Job Duties Responsibility Area : Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance Duties : Diagnose mechanical issues and malfunctions in landscaping and grounds equipment and vehicles.
Identify the root cause of problems and implement effective repair solutions. Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on landscaping and ground equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and other related equipment.
Ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition to support daily operations. Maintain departmental fuel storage supplies and comply with associated regulations.
Maintain and repair vehicles used in our department including trucks, utility vehicles, street sweeper, and trailers. Ensure all vehicles are in optimal working condition to support daily operations.
Conduct routine checks on engines, brakes, tires, and other vehicle components to ensure they meet safety standards.
Percentage Of Time 65 Essential Function : Yes Responsibility Area : Shop Operation Duties : Supervise and collaborate with members of our department for maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to staff as needed. Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repairs.
Coordinate with suppliers on availability to support maintenance schedules. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
Ensure that all equipment and vehicles meet safety requirements and operate safely to prevent accidents or injuries. Coordinate and assist in the proper use and disposal of hazardous materials.
Percentage Of Time 15 Essential Function : Yes Responsibility Area : Documentation Duties : Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for each piece of equipment and vehicle.
Generate reports and work orders as needed to track maintenance history and identify trends in equipment performance.

Assist in snow and ice removal from steps, sidewalks, parking lots, and drives using manual and powered equipment.
Percentage Of Time 10 Essential Function : Yes Required and Preferred Qualifications Required Education Graduation from a recognized vocational technical school Required Experience Two years motor vehicle or small engine repair. Equivalency considered.
Must have knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with the preventive maintenance and repair of landscape, construction, refuse, irrigation, and snow removal equipment from preventive care through major overhaul, all components of department machinery including engines (gas, diesel, and electric), transmissions, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, suspension, drive trains, brakes, tires, body work and other related equipment.
