Job Description : Senior Director, Analytical Services
Location : Pasco, WA
Introduction :
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Director to lead our Analytical Services at our state-of-the-art laboratory in Pasco, WA.
This role is pivotal in driving performance and shaping the laboratory operations' strategic direction, particularly in serving our critical Department of Energy (DOE) clients and expanding our business frontiers.
As the Senior Director of Analytical Services, you will be at the forefront of our laboratory’s strategic initiatives, driving both operational excellence and business growth.
Your leadership will directly contribute to our mission of delivering superior analytical services in a rapidly evolving industry landscape.
Role Summary :
The Senior Director of Analytical Services will oversee the laboratory’s entire operations and ensure the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
The individual will play a critical role in team leadership, operational management, and strategic business development, directly influencing the laboratory’s growth and alignment with industry advancements.
Key Responsibilities :
Operational Leadership and Management :
Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring optimal performance.
Develop and implement robust operational strategies that enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
Communicate key performance indicators to executive management.
Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and uphold laboratory certifications.
Quality Control and Standards Enforcement :
Establish stringent laboratory controls and standards to guarantee test accuracy and reliability.
Ensure all laboratory equipment and instruments are maintained and calibrated to meet the industry’s cutting-edge standards.
Team Development and Management :
Lead recruitment, training, and development initiatives to build a highly skilled laboratory team.
Evaluate staff performance regularly, fostering a culture of high productivity and continuous improvement.
Financial and Resource Management :
Formulate and manage the laboratory budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.
Implement strategic financial controls to support both short-term and long-term operational goals.
Strategic Business Development and Client Relations :
Spearhead business development efforts, focusing on opportunities within DOE Environmental Management (EM) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
Maintain continuous engagement with key clients and regulatory agencies, ensuring alignment with their evolving needs.
Promote the laboratory’s capabilities in R&D to meet advanced analytical testing demands.
Safety and Compliance Oversight :
Enforce rigorous health and safety standards to protect staff and ensure environmental compliance.
Address and resolve any operational, technical, or regulatory issues that arise.
Qualifications and Experience :
Proven experience as a Laboratory Manager or similar leadership role in an analytical or testing laboratory environment. At least 10 years of management and operational leadership experience.
In-depth knowledge of DOE projects, client management, and laboratory operations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Relevant academic and professional qualifications.
B.S. in a scientific field, graduate degree preferred, with at least 15 years experience.
