Senior Quality Engineer

Greensboro, NC

Contract Position

This position is supporting the next generation in developing mission critical systems for our national defense. You would be a part of creating the most effective and state of the art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies working with our military.

Responsibilities :

  • Design, implementing and maintaining quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into finished products.
  • Quality function in one or more production shops and design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products.

Perform analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates

or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary

  • Review Documents / Drawings / Instructions for conformance to requirements
  • Provide resolution to problems of moderate scope
  • Compares defects against standards and recommends dispositions, and verifies

implementation of rework

  • Collect, organize and analyze project data, generates and / or reviews metrics
  • Perform audits, assigns corrective action, and verifies implementation
  • Participate in project reviews and meetings including technical design reviews, technical

peer reviews

  • Verify compliance to defined requirements
  • Witness and or monitor test activities
  • Receive instructions from immediate supervisor
  • Contact with multiple work groups
  • Work under general supervision
  • Interface with various engineering disciplines, manufacturing, program management, and

other quality personnel

Some contact with project leaders and other professionals within the Engineering,

Manufacturing, and Quality departments

  • Work as an individual technical contributor on one or multiple projects
  • Participate as an active member of the project team

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
  • Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance
  • Solid knowledge of engineering (., software, electrical, systems, etc) methodologies, tools and standards
  • Solid knowledge of ISO 9001 : 2008, CMMI, ISO 14001ASME, ANSI, EIA, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Solid skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
  • Solid ability to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound quality engineering practices
  • Solid knowledge of interpretation of drawings
  • Solid skills in reviewing documents / drawings / instructions for conformance to requirements techniques
  • Solid skills in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues both in writing and verbally
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Solid knowledge of use of relevant inspection / measurement tools and techniques
  • Solid computer skills, both desktop software and required factory or engineering tools
  • Outstanding communication skills to work proactively with a project team and interact with our customers
  • Ability to think creatively and multi-task
  • Solid skills in reviewing documents, drawings and instructions for conformance to requirements techniques
