Job Description Summary

The GE9X Flight Test engineering team lead works with the GE flight test manager and flight test operational lead as well as the systems engineering team and other stakeholders to support safe, effective, and efficient use of the GE9X engines on the Boeing 777X flight test program.

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs.

The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed.

Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working.

Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role.

The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the technical aspects of the flight test program.
  • Provide on-site engineering support to the wider 777X / GE9X production support and systems engineering teams.
  • Interface with the broader systems team to ensure that the technical objectives of the flight test campaign are achieved in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for leading the resolution of technical issues on the flight test program and coordinating the day to day activities of the on-site GE9X team in conjunction with the broader flight test team.
  • Interface with the airframer to ensure that the engines are appropriately supporting the flight test objectives.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Systems Engineering.

  • Flightline Experience.
  • Experience working with airframers.

The base pay range for this position is 121,500-202,600. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary / commission based on the plan.
