Description
The ADA Eligibility Specialist is responsible for reviewing ADA paratransit application documents and professional verification forms, conducting in-person interviews for applicants, and performing functional assessments with applicants to determine eligibility for ADA paratransit service.
The ADA Eligibility Specialist is also responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, and providing final eligibility determinations to the client.

- Determines final eligibility based upon the interview, functional assessment and any other relevant supplemental information
- Conduct in-person interviews to assess mobility capabilities and consider supplemental information provided
- Determine what functional assessments the applicant will be required to undergo
- Provide written eligibility determination documentation to th elient within ADA required and contracted time frame
- Reads and interprets ADA paratransit professional verification forms
- Review interview results, folloiwng up on assessments and professional verification, as needed
- Provide further written documentation to the client upon request
- Assist the leadership team in identifying process improvement opportunities
- Conduct functional physical and / or cognitive assessment with applicants that may include : Physical Functional Assessments using an outdoor course, FACTS, MMSE, and TUG assessments
- Apply information obtained to determine applicant’s capability to independently ride fixed route transportation
- Complete required forms for eligibility letter generation
- Participate in staff meetings with leadership and the entire team
- Participate in continuing education as needed
- Participate in initial and ongoing training as required by Transdev and client
- Complete all necessary reports, paperwork and maintain applicant tracking logs and reports for Transdev and client
- Build rapport and communicate effectively with Transdev and client personnel, including administrators, management, support staff and applicant while providing high quality customer service
- Participate in the appeals process, upon request
- Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with individuals, support staff and caregivers
- Work with management and the client to follow through on service issues, troubleshooting problems, concerns, complaints and training
