JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Hardware Engineer to join our team in Boulder, CO. As an Embedded Engineer at our company, you will collaborate with a team in developing cutting-edge antenna prototypes and products.

Your primary responsibilities will involve designing and testing power and control systems for antennas, both in terms of hardware and software.

This will entail tasks such as printed circuit board design and layout, writing and deploying embedded firmware in C, and developing test software in Python.

As you progress, you will also be involved in higher-level system design of active RF systems.

Required Education and Experience

  • Must be a US citizen and eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required (Master's Degree is a plus)
  • Experience in designing and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits
  • Proficiency in microcontroller programming using C
  • Ability to effectively use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to peers, management, and customers
  • Passion for problem-solving and a willingness to tackle new and challenging problems
  • Comfortable working in a lab environment
  • Resilient and open to quickly learning from failures

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with real-time operating systems for embedded systems
  • Familiarity with digital design using Verilog and / or VHDL
  • Experience in printed circuit board layout and assembly
  • Proficiency in Python for automating test equipment and data analysis
  • Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary engineering projects
  • Previous experience with Altium Designer
  • Knowledge of RF devices and test equipment

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not involve direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment. The role requires the use of standard office equipment like laptops and photocopiers, as well as specialized test equipment like vector network analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally. The role also requires good vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee may need to lift lab equipment, open cabinets, and stand on a stool when necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with an expected workload of 40 hours per week. Typical office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm, although these hours may vary based on workload and management's discretion.

There may be occasions that require working more than 40 hours per week.
