Job Summary : Under limited supervision, the Regional Marketing Manager will be responsible for providing commercial and operational support to the Director of Wholesale Fuels.
This person will be expected to be a creative problem solver, employing their commercial understanding of the unbranded fuels industry and their personal experience with customers and markets.
Will further be responsible for working with and supporting the Director of Wholesale Fuels, meeting and exceeding the needs of current customers, finding new prospects and customers in new and established markets via following assigned leads, warm prospecting and travel.
The Regional Manager will work closely with the Supply & Trading group to achieve both long and short-term team volume and profitability goals.
The ideal person will have the ability to successfully resolve customer issues and / or concerns creating win / win situations for Atlas Oil and our customers.
The ideal candidate will show expertise in one, or multiple markets and bring new perspectives and potential revenue streams with which to train current and future staff with the intention of upward movement and an eventual move into staff management.
Primary Responsibilities & Scope :
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships in the refined products industry.
- Through regular communication, build rapport with customers to solicit market information to assist the Director of Wholesale Marketing and the Supply and Trading apparatus with physical strategy.
- Responsible for supporting a book of existing business, or multiple territories and generating new business within the assigned regions.
- Origination of new short-term and index-based agreements across assigned regions.
- Expansion of assigned territory by volume, customer, and geographic reach.
- Catalog to completion of all deal leads and new prospects.
- Annual volume and margin guidance within the forecasting process.
- Provides information to Team Leader on account activity during sales meetings with an emphasis in communicating via meaningful presentations.
- Prepares all documents associated with new business activity to include credit applications and proposals.
- Assists Team Leader in evaluating the profitability for commercial customers in an assigned territory and makes appropriate recommendations for changes or cancellations.
- Extensive experience w / DTN Tabs, Fuelbuyer and Fuelseller.
- Assist with daily rack pricing strategy and publications.
- Interface with other Atlas Oil Company groups to assure efficient and accurate processing of invoices.
- Resolve customer issues and / or concerns in a win / win fashion.
- Provide back-up support for the Director as required.
- Ad-hoc analysis as assigned.
Preferred Experience :
- 5 years in unbranded fuels marketing
- 5-10 years Experience in petroleum, energy or related industries
- Staff management
- P&L Reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Strong mathematical skills in pricing and competitive analysis
- Very strong interpersonal skills
- Team-First mentality and ability to collaborate well with other business disciplines
