Department Microbiology Job Summary SMH is hiring for Medical Lab Technicians! Come join our growing team! Under the supervision of Technical Supervisor and Shift Supervisor, performs laboratory tests under supervision to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Follows all Hospital and Laboratory policies, guidelines, procedures and protocols pertaining to job duties and meet expectations for performance standards.
Required Qualifications - Require associate degree in health-related field or equivalent education and training as defined by the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel for a Technician (TN) licensure.
Employees hired prior to 1 / 1 / 09 or new hires with licensures awarded prior to 1 / 1 / 09, are exempt from the degree requirement.
Require qualification as an ASCP, AMT, NCA, or an equivalent medical technician. - Require current technician license required under Chapter 483, Part IV, Florida Statute 61F-5, or must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications - Prefer National Certification. - Prefer one (1) year generalist experience. - Prefer demonstrated excellent in written and verbal communication skills.
